# megamono adopt

Syntax, options, and usage for the adopt command.

Add Megamono to a repository you already work in, without starting over. Adoption begins with a survey and lets you choose which conventions to introduce.

## Preview a small adoption

```sh
megamono adopt --survey
megamono adopt --profile=pilot --dry-run --interactive=false
```

The pilot adds lint, health checks, and project discovery. Follow [the adoption walkthrough](/docs/workflows/adoption) to review and apply the changes.

## Command options

Use the help below for exact syntax and options. You can also run `megamono adopt --help` in your terminal.

```text
Usage: megamono adopt [generator options]
Examples:
  megamono adopt
  megamono adopt --survey --format=json
  megamono adopt --only=health,inference,lint --dry-run
  megamono adopt --only=health,inference,lint --write --yes
Adopt is the mature-workspace entry point. It defaults to a read-only survey.
Pass --dry-run for an operation plan or --write to apply an accepted plan. All
workspace-init options are supported.
